Coach Bee is a passionate volleyball coach with over 20 years of experience in the sport and a decade of experience as a dedicated educator where he taught physical education in St. Paul, MN , Tomah, WI , and La Crosse, WI. A former setter himself, he brings the strategic mindset and leadership skills honed on the court into his coaching. He has further refined his coaching philosophy and techniques through his training with The Digital Volleyball Academy, staying current with modern methods and best practices in the game. With a strong foundation in both athletics and academics, Coach Bee is known for developing well-rounded athletes—focusing not just on skill and strategy, but also on character, teamwork, and personal growth.

With over 20 years of volleyball experience and 4 years of coaching, Xia brings both passion and perspective to the game. Xia’s coaching philosophy is rooted in growth: “Don’t be afraid to make mistakes—it's those mistakes that will make you better.” Inspired by the chance to keep the spirit of volleyball alive in the next generation, Xia coaches to showcase just how great this game truly is. A favorite quote that drives Xia’s love for sport is from Mike Singletary: “Do you know what my favorite part of the game is? The opportunity to play.” Off the court, Xia enjoys golfing—a peaceful way to enjoy life, connect with loved ones, and unwind in the outdoors.

Coach Yee Xiong, serving as a Coach and Marketing Lead for NoCoast Volleyball Academy, brings over 15 years of volleyball experience across the Hmong community, intramurals, and local rec leagues. His coaching journey includes working with middle school athletes in the Tomah School District and mentoring youth in the greater La Crosse area, focusing on building confidence and opportunity for multicultural and at-risk students. As a former outside hitter and setter for teams like Team Doom, Hood Park, and Team LAX, Yee’s philosophy centers on team chemistry, belief, and trust as keys to success both on and off the court. A true teacher at heart, he uses his own life experiences to give back to the community, inspiring youth to dream bigger and work harder. Outside of volleyball, Yee enjoys cooking, singing, listening to music, and detailing cars, living by his favorite quote: “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.”

I’ve been playing volleyball for over 16 years, and I’ve loved every minute of it. I started as a setter, shifted into a hitting role, and eventually found my groove as a defensive player. Playing all over the court gave me a deeper appreciation for the game and what it takes to be a great teammate. Now with 3 years of coaching under my belt, I’m all about helping athletes grow both in skill and confidence. I try to create a space where players feel supported, challenged, and excited to learn. For me, it’s not just about winning — it’s about building strong habits, good attitudes, and love for the game.
